We need a Church Building !!!  

The Church is excited and enthusiastic as a new chapter in its history is about to begin; as on Tuesday 9th March 2010 the Witham local planning committee of Braintree District Council, unanimously decided to accept our application for the worship site, on the Maltings Lane development on the south west side of Witham, this a development of 1538 dwellings plus light industry..

In the not too distant future:

The site of a Church Building for Witham Baptist Church!!!

On this development of 1538 dwellings, the Church will not just be a place of worship, it will be a landmark that acts as a focal point within the community, giving much needed facilities

This is a big commitment for a small fellowship, but a tremendous privilege to be part of building a new Church for the glory of God.  The vision is to build a Church fit for purpose in the 21st century, to reach out into the community and make a difference.

The Church will not just be a place of worship.  It will be a landmark that acts as a focal point within the community, for use by the community and giving much needed facilities which will draw the people together, strengthen it and aid it in dealing will problems and help to shape a better future.

The Church has a building fund to which members of the fellowship have generously contributed, and this is increased from time to time by donations (including gift-aid money) and fund raising contributions. We currently have a "Buy a Brick" collection box available for loose change donations.

The trustees are currently making applications to various charities for grants towards this project. 

Every little helps, so please pray that the money will be forthcoming as required for this large undertaking and only God's provision will enable the work to go forward.

Negotiations are continuing with Braintree District Council re the purchase and development of the Worship site. 

The Church's architect has prepared site layout plans, and is currently drawing up the design for the building, with a view to obtaining planning permission as soon as possible.
